Chad Dowdle - Head Instructor, 6th dan (Isshin-Ryu)
Chad's martial arts training began at around the age of 13 when his father would teach him Karate along with weight-lifting for his physical education while he was home schooled. Chad would continue to train with a few different instructors until 2002 when he found Joe Paden; a local karate teacher and student of Arcenio Advincula. Chad trained under Sensei Paden until 2013. In 2013 he began training under Arcenio J. Advincula, a world renown martial artist and pioneer of the Marine martial arts system. Chad started visiting Okinawa in 2019 to learn more about the culture and history of Isshin-ryu, RyuKonkai and other Okinawan martial arts. In 2023 Chad was awarded with the title of Renshi (Certified Teacher), one of 14 in the Isshinkai Association. Today, Chad still visits Sensei Advincula to train, and has recently started teaching karate in Odessa, Texas.
In Addition to teaching karate, Chad is also an DDPY instructor; DDPY is a fitness program that combines yoga poses, calisthenics, and physical therapy exercises to give an low impact , high cardio workout. Chad became a instructor of the program after it helped him strengthen and heal his lower back pain.
